Getting Started
Move from "blank page" to "first scene" in 5 steps.
1. Onboarding
When you first log in, you will:
- Meet your Staff: Choose your AI provider (Gemini, Claude, or OpenAI).
- Activate your Room: This provisions your secure, private workspace.
2. Choosing a Format
Before writing a word, tell the Room what kind of story this is:
- Novel: Focus on chapters, internal monologue, and sensory detail.
- TV Series: Focus on visual action, dialogue, and episode structure.
- Short Form: Focus on hooks, pacing, and concise beats.
3. The Interview
The Room will ask you 5-10 questions about your idea.
Tip: Don't overthink this. You aren't locking yourself in; you're just giving the AI context.
4. Brainstorming & Structure
Once in the Workbench:
- Chat with the Foreman: "I have a detective who hates mysteries."
- Generate Sketches: The Room will propose 3 structural outlines.
- Import to Binder: Pick one, and watch your Binder fill with empty beats.
5. Your First Scene
- Click a Beat in the Binder (e.g., "The Inciting Incident").
- Review the Beat Summary (what needs to happen?).
- Click Generate Scene.
- Read the draft.
- Edit it. The AI is the junior writer; you are the Showrunner. Rewrite the dialogue, fix the pacing.
Next Steps
- Calibrate Your Voice — Teach the AI to write like you.
- Learn the Lexicon — Understand the terminology.
